Author Archive: John Duval
Relatively new to blogging but not to the golf industry, John Duval is the owner & editor of intothegrain.com (ITG) and itgexpress.com. He started playing golf as a sophomore in High School and within a year he walked on the varsity golf team as the #1 player. In 1997 he moved to Florida to pursue a career in golf, and later in information technology. John has done just about every golf related job there is. He's been an assistant pro, golf coach and greens keeper and also has several years in golf retail. In 2009, he took his years of golf industry and IT experience and created intothegrain.com. 3 years later, he launched the companion site to ITG, called itgexpress.com, and the rest is history!
Catch The Open Mix Channel on DIRECTV
I’m stuck on regular old cable TV, and for a few years now I’ve been missing out on a cool feature that my DirecTV subscriber friends have been bragging to me about. What golf nut out there wouldn’t want to watch four channels at once? In partnership with ESPN, DIRECTV viewers can watch up to four channels [...]
Justin Rose Joins Ashworth Golf Company
Justin Rose is one of my favorite golfers on the PGA Tour. Ever since the world saw him in the 1998 British Open as a 17 year old, we’ve seen him grow up and turn into a true professional. Now Justin is aligning himself with one of the classiest brands in golf – Ashworth. Here’s [...]

Gadget Alert! Motorola is best known for making cell phones, but with the new MOTOACTV they are branching into the Golf/Fitness/Electronics market, which I didn’t even know existed! Antigua – Spring 2012
Antigua has long been one of my favorite clothing brands, because their golf shirts are classic, comfortable and perform well. They don’t go for the hype and overblown styles of some newer clothing brands, and their lines appeal to everyone with their simplicity and quality. Here’s a peak at what’s in store for this year. [...]
Jox Athletic Shorts – Core Support & Back Pain Relief
One of the biggest fears for any serious golfer is a back injury. The angled twisting motion of the golf swing isn’t the best movement for your back, and many people endure back pain when playing golf and other activities. We spend lots of time and effort picking golf clothing to make a fashion statement [...]
Feel Golf 73 Wedge
Feel Golf has been around since 2000, but they actually began making wedges for tour players back in 1985. In fact, Feel Golf can claim several major championships and many tournament victories by players using their irons and wedges. The company recently moved to Sanford, FL and I took some time to meet with Dr. [...]
TaylorMade NFL Hats
Football season is over here in the United States, and football fans everywhere are just counting down the days until the NFL Draft and the buildup to the next season. If you are one of those fans, in the meantime I suggest you get out and play golf! Now fans of the NFL and TaylorMade [...]
Innovex V-Motion Golf Ball – First Look
I know what you are thinking. Inno-what? Innovex Golf. Get used to the name, because they are making a splash in the golf world. The golf company has actually been around since 2004. They recently purchased Rife Putters and will continue to promote the brand. I think this is a great move, because Rife makes [...]
